Fab Friday Finds: How the Experts Live, Celebrate & Entertain

Happy Friday NewlyWish-ers!

Ever wonder what chefs make for their families for dinner, what your favorite event designer’s own wedding would be like, how the fab a party thrown by Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart would be like, or what a world renowned interior designer keeps in her attic (actually, barn)?  Well, this week we’ve got links to where you can find answers to three of these four (we’re still working on finding out if Gordon Ramsey occasionally pops a frozen meal in the microwave).  From beautiful shots from the wedding of one of our favorite peeps in the world (who also happens to be part of a fab design team), to a party we attended hosted by Darcy Miller, Editorial Director of Martha Stewart Weddings, we’ve got some great peeks into worlds of folks who are usually designing, planning, and decorating for the rest of us.

A few weeks ago, we attended a fabulous, intimate gathering hosted by Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Mark Ingram’s Atelier.  Mark is one of the warmest, sweetest people you could ever meet and everything at the party reflected that feeling.  Check out the pics on the Merci New York Blog (here). And Darcy shared shots of each of the wonderful details on The Brides Guide (here).

We just love the photos from the wedding of Mayra and Aja, and are sure you will, too.  Mayra is half of the dynamic duo behind super fabulous event design team, AAB Creates.  We got to attend the reception and can attest to all of the love and joy the party captured.  Check out the shots on Style Me Pretty and also be sure to read Mayra’s post-wedding musings on the event over at the AAB Blog.

Shabby chic maven, Rachel Ashwell, just shared a great post on her blog about her new ‘everything barn’.  We have enough trouble managing our ‘everything drawer’ and there’s no way of telling what kind of chaos would ensue if we had a whole barn; Rachel’s oozes effortless style, and we just love the paintings by her friend Laurence Amelie.

If you’re looking to get out and take in a little interior design eye-candy or find some great new pieces for your home, check out Apartment Therapy’s Weekend Guide, with listings for things to do and see in your local area.

Lastly, with the passing of Donna Summer this week, we thought we finish with a link to one of our favorite songs of hers, a live version of State of Independence.  She’ll be missed.
